2 radio stations permitted to resume operations

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Information and Culture (MoIC) has granted Begum and Jawanan radio stations permission to resume broadcasts after they pledged compliance with rules and regulations.

MoIC had suspended the operations of both radio stations for violating the government’s broadcasting policies and misusing their licences.

A statement from the ministry said: “Since their suspension, the two radio stations have repeatedly requested permission to resume broadcasts.

“They have now been allowed to operate again after committing to adhere to the principles of journalism and the policies of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA), as well as to avoid future violations.”

The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to supporting media outlets and journalists while ensuring compliance with Islamic broadcasting policies, values, national interests and Afghan culture.
