KABUL (Pajhwok): A senior Al-Qaeda member has been killed in a US airstrike in Syria, the US Central Command said on Sunday.
CENTCOM <a href="https://www.centcom.mil/MEDIA/PRESS-RELEASES/Press-Release-View/Article/4074572/centcom-forces-kill-an-al-qaeda-affiliate-hurras-al-din-leader-in-northwest-syr/">reported</a>: “On Feb. 21, US Central Command (CENTCOM) forces conducted a precision airstrike in northwest Syria, killing Wasim Tahsin Bayraqdar, a senior leadership facilitator of the terrorist organization Hurras al-Din (HaD), an Al-Qaeda affiliate”.
On February 17, US Central Command announced that it had killed a member of an organization affiliated with Al-Qaeda in Syria in an airstrike.
The US declared Hurrasuddin a "terrorist" organization in 2019 and offered financial rewards for information on a number of its members, the report added.
