KABUL (Pajhwok): Deputy Foreign Minister Dr. Mohammad Naeem and the Azerbaijani ambassador in Kabul have discussed strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries.
In a statement, MoFA said the deputy foreign minister for financial and administrative affairs met Ambassador Elham Mammadov in Kabul.
During the meeting, discussions were held on expanding political, economic and cultural cooperation between Afghanistan and Azerbaijan.
The two sides emphasised on the importance of strengthening and continuing cooperative bilateral relations.
Mammadov highlighted cooperation and progress between Azerbaijan and Afghanistan and stressed his country attached special importance to relations with Afghanistan.
He added Azerbaijan had opened its embassy in Kabul and accepted the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan diplomats.
Dr Naeem also expressed gratitude for Azerbaijan’s cooperation with the Afghan delegation at the COP29 summit and considered ties between the two countries important.
