FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): At least two children were killed and third individual was wounded as a result of a blast caused by an Explosive Remnants of War (ERW) in the Gulistan district of western Farah province on Tuesday, an official said.
Information and Culture Department Director Maulvi Abdul Hai Sabawoon told Pajhwok Afghan News the blast occurred in Deh-i-Yak village of the district this morning.
He said two children lost their lives and third person was wounded in the blast.
He explained the old mine had been stored inside a house, and its explosion partially damaged three neighbouring houses.
However, no further casualties were reported from the adjacent homes.
Two weeks ago, three individuals had been killed and two others wounded in similar explosion in the same province.
