Lighting, floods kill 6, wound 10 in Helmand

LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): Six individuals have been killed and 10 others injured as a result of flash floods and lightning in southern Helmand province, an official said on Wednesday.

Information and Culture Director Hafiz Abdul Bari Rashid told Pajhwok Afghan News two people were injured by lightning in 10<sup>th</sup> police district. Additionally, a 14-year-old boy died in a similar incident in Farhad area of Nawzad district.

Separately, thunder struck a house in Gereshk district, injuring six member of a family and another incident left a woman killed in Babaji district.

On the other hand, a 16-year-old boy died after being swept away by flash flood in Landi Nawe area of Musa Qala district.

Also, three people including two young girls lost their lives and two others injured after roofs of two houses collapsed in Gereshk and Sangin districts.

The official explained about 1,500 solar panels were damaged in Washir district of the province due to heavy rain and storms.

These incidents took place over the past 24 hours.
