Heavy rain, flash floods predicted in parts of country

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Transportation and Civil Aviation (MoTCA) on Thursday predicted heavy flash floods, snowfall and rainfall in some provinces.

On its X handle, MoTCA wrote that flash floods, heavy rainfall and snowfall will likely lash Kandahar, Zabul, Khost, Paktia, Paktika, Kabul, Nangarhar, Laghman Kunar, Nuristan sea basin from February 27 to March 1.

The ministry also wrote that rain and snow are likely to be relatively heavy along with flash floods in the “Kabul” and “Helmand” sea basin, and there is a possibility of flooding due to rains.

The ministry asked residents of the mentioned areas to refrain from going near the banks of rivers during floods and inform downstream areas about flooding to prevent human casualties.
