KABUL (Pajhwok): Humanitarian organizations are providing assistance to the victims of recent floods in Afghanistan, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) says.
OCHA wrote on X 22 people were killed and 16 others injured as heavy rains and floods hit multiple provinces in Afghanistan.
The organization said that these floods damaged hundreds of homes and agricultural lands.
“Humanitarian partners are responding; but more support is needed as the rainy season approaches.”
Earlier, the Disaster Management Authority in Afghanistan had put the death toll at 36 with dozens of others injured due to floods and severe storms in different provinces of Afghanistan.
