Otunbayeva to brief UNSC on Afghanistan

KABUL (Pajhwok): United Nations Special Representative for Afghanistan Roza Otunbayeva will brief the UN Security Council on the situation in Afghanistan next week.

On it X account, the UN said the meeting would be held under the presidency of Denmark on March 10.

The UN did not share details of the upcoming session, which will confer on issues related to Yemen, Afghanistan, the Middle East peace process and Syria.

UNSC members also plan to meet on Afghanistan on March 17 to discuss the possibility of extending UNAMA’s mandate for another year.
