KABUL (Pajhwok): Russia has offered to mediate between Washington and Tehran to defuse tensions over Iran’s nuclear programme, a media report said on Wednesday.
Kremlin officials pledged to do everything possible to peacefully address issues around Tehran’s nuclear programme, the Reuters news agency reported.
Russian authorities reportedly offered to mediate between the US and Iran, while the Kremlin pledged to facilitate an amicable solution.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov was quoted as saying Russian President Vladimir Putin had agreed to mediate between Washington and Tehran.
The Kremlin spokesman told reporters on Tuesday that Iran was Russia’s partner and ally and Moscow would continue to develop its relations with Tehran.
