KABUL (Pajhwok): According to order of the Islamic Emirate leadership, mosques are exempted from electricity bills.
IEA’s spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid wrote on X: “Based on decree of Amir al-Momineen, mosques have been exempted from electricity costs.”.
Relevant organs should not request payment of these expenses in future, he added, stressing that careful monitoring should be carried out to ensure that electricity from mosques was not used in other places.
Previously mosques were also charged electricity costs.
