KABUL (Pajhwok): United Nations Special Representative for Afghanistan Roza Otunbayeva will brief the UN Security Council on the situation in Afghanistan today (Monday).
In a statement, UNAMA wrote: “UNAMA head Roza Otunbayeva will brief the UN Security Council on the situation in Afghanistan on Monday (March10), starting at 15:30 in New York (23:30 Kabul local)”.
The meeting would be held under the presidency of Denmark.
UNSC members also plan to meet on Afghanistan on March 17 to discuss the possibility of extending UNAMA’s mandate for another year.
Earlier, IEA’s spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid had said the UNAMA mission in Afghanistan was not effective as it should have been and it presented negative reports about Afghanistan.
