GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): A gang of eight suspected thieves has been busted in Ghazni City, security officials said on Tuesday.
Abu Khalid Sarhadi, police spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News, the thieves had long been involved in robberies.
He said: “The gang was held yesterday with gold, a medical tool, a tailoring machine and cash. It would target the houses whose inmates were away.”
According to Sarhadi, the gang had long been under surveillance by security officials and it was then referred to crime branch.
A number of provincial capital residents, meanwhile, expressed their pleasure over the arrest of this robbers.
Nawab Khan, a resident of Ghazni City told Pajhwok they had suffered at the hands of the elements involved in stealing bikes, bicycles, looting shops and houses.
Before this, the security forces had arrested another five-member gang of robbers in the same city.
