KABUL (Pajhwok): Ukraine has rained down hundreds of drone on different parts of Russia, wounding several civilians and damaging apartments and vehicles.
Russian authorities said the largest attack of the current year from Kiev came Monday night, hours ahead of talks between US and Ukrainian officials in Jeddah.
The TASS news agency reported Russian air defences had shot down 337 Ukrainian drones over Russian regions, including Moscow.
Ninety-one drones were downed over the Moscow region, 126 in Kursk, 38 in Bryansk, 25 in Belgorod, 22 in Ryazan, 10 in Kaluga, eight in Lipetsk, as many in Oryol, six in Voronezh and three in Nizhny Novgorod.
Following the strikes, flight restrictions were imposed at airports in Zhukovsky, Domodedovo, Sheremetyevo, Vnukovo, Strigino (Nizhny Novgorod) and Tunoshna.
Outside Moscow, a fire erupted at a parking lot of the Miratorg agribusiness company in Domodedovo area, where 20 cars were torched.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security advisor Mike Waltz are due to meet the Ukrainian security adviser, foreign minister and defence minister in Saudi Arabia today.
The two sides are likely to discuss the concessions Ukraine is ready to make to end its war with Russia — a goal being pursued by US President Donald Trump.
