KABUL (Pajhwok): The national beach soccer team is set to take on Japan in a friendly match today (Saturday), the Afghanistan Football Federation announced.
On its Facebook page, AFF wrote the match was scheduled to commence at 3:30pm local time.
In their first friendly encounter, Afghanistan had defeated Saudi Arabia yesterday.
The national side had on March 10 for Thailand, where they will attend a training camp in the lead-up to an upcoming competition.
The national team will face Iran, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Indonesia in Group C of the Beach Soccer Asia Cup 2025.
Thailand, Kuwait, Lebanon and India are placed in Group A, while Japan, China, Saudi Arabia and Iraq are included in Group B. Group
D is comprised of Oman, Bahrain, Malaysia and Vietnam. The event features a total of 16 beach soccer teams, three of which will qualify for the 2025 World Cup.
The 2025 Beach Soccer Asia Cup is set to begin in Thailand on March 20.
