Kabul (Pajhwok): The Acting Minister of Refugees and Repatriation, Maulvi Abdul Kabir, says that the forced expulsion of Afghan migrants from neighboring countries has hindered the aid delivery process within Afghanistan.
Maulvi Kabir made these remarks during a meeting with Izora Mutya Maskun, the Deputy Head of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), a statement from the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation (MoRR) said.
The situation of Afghan refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs) was discussed during the meeting.
The acting minister emphasized that humanitarian assistance from the United Nations is crucial and effective in addressing the issues faced by refugees and IDPs in Afghanistan.
He added that the caretaker government is actively working to resolve the challenges related to migration.
He also stressed the importance of cooperation among relevant institutions and organizations in building settlements for returning Afghans.
Additionally, he highlighted that the forced expulsion of Afghan refugees from neighboring countries has disrupted the aid delivery process within the country.
Maskun expressed concern about the forced expulsions of Afghan refugees from neighboring countries.
She added that the United Nations is working to provide essential financial and in-kind assistance to Afghan refugees.
According to her, the IOM is committed to coordinating with the relevant authorities of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) to ensure that necessary facilities are provided at the borders before the new wave of refugee expulsions from Pakistan, to facilitate effective aid delivery.
