KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghan taekwondo player Farzad Mansouri has secured second place and won a silver medal by defeating his French and Dutch opponents in the Open Taekwondo Championships held in Belgium.
Mansouri told Pajhwok Afghan News that the Taekwondo Open Championship took place in Belgium from March 15 to 16, with participants from the United States, Canada, and European countries.
He said that he defeated his French opponent in the first round and then overcame his Dutch opponent to reach the finals.
In the final, Mansouri was defeated by his American opponent, earning second place and securing the silver medal.
This Afghan athlete currently resides in Manchester, England.
Last month, Farzad Mansouri also won a bronze medal at the Taekwondo “Open G2” International Championships hosted in Turkey.
