JALALABAD (Pajhwok): The Torkham crossing reopened for all types of movement on Saturday morning, an official confirmed.
However, travel will initially be restricted to emergency patients for the first two days due to heavy congestion.
Nangarhar police spokesman Syed Tayib Hammad said the key crossing reopened for pedestrians at 8:00am.
He told Pajhwok Afghan News only critical patients alone would be allowed to cross into Pakistan today and tomorrow, with normal travel expected to resume on Monday.
The crossing was originally scheduled to reopen on Friday, but technical issues on the Pakistani side delayed the process for a day.
