TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): Construction work has been initiated on a transport terminal at a cost of 37 million afghanis in the capital of central Uruzgan province, an official announced on Tuesday.
Acting Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Hamidullah Akhundzada told the inaugural ceremony the terminal was being built on approximately five acres of land in Tirinkot.
Funded by the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation (MoTC), the 37m afs project would take 14 months to complete, he said.
Meanwhile, Uruzgan Governor Inayatullah Shuja described the facility as a significant step forward.
He hoped the project’s completion would go a long way in augmenting transport services for local residents.
Residents of the province also welcomed the initiative, hoping it would help resolve travel problems and improve connectivity with other provinces.
