GARDEZ (Pajhwok): A 48-member police motorcycle unit has been formed in southeastern Paktia province to strengthen security, an official announced on Thursday.
Police spokesman Munib Zadran said the unit was established to curb criminal activities and provide a rapid response in Gardez, the provincial capital.
He added the unit would conduct 24-hour patrols on motorcycles throughout the city.
Meanwhile, officers assigned to the unit said they had undergone comprehensive training to tackle criminal and security-related incidents effectively.
Local residents welcomed the initiative, calling it a significant step toward improving security and reducing crime.
