KABUL (Pajhwok): The Australian government on Friday announced $5 million aid package to support women and girls in Afghanistan.
In addition to this, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Canberra revealed that Australia will provide $11 million in lifesaving humanitarian assistance for civilians in Gaza and $15 million in critical support for those affected by humanitarian crises in Myanmar and Afghanistan.
The $5 million allocation will be used to enable United Nations partners to deliver essential services to Afghan women and girls, the ministry added.
Penny Wong, Australia’s Foreign Minister, affirmed that the country remains firmly committed to supporting Afghan women and girls.
