Child killed, 13 others injured in Faryab collision

MAIMANA (Pajhwok): A child has been killed and 13 others injured in a traffic accident that took place on the Highway No. 2 in northern Faryab province, an official said Saturday.

Ahmad Fahim Kohi, a traffic police official, told Pajhwok Afghan News, the incident took place yesterday evening in Chimtal Sai area of the provincial capital, Maimana.

According to Kohi, two Passo type cars, taking part in a wedding procession, collided. leaving a child dead and 11 women, two children and a man injured.

The accident resulted from over-speeding and reckless overtaking, he said.

Dr. Qudratullah, a physician at Maimana Hospital, also confirmed receiving the body of a child.
