MEHTARLAM (Pajhwok): A child was killed and seven others were injured as a result of a traffic accident in eastern Nuristan province, an official said on Saturday.
Police spokesman Ghulam Rahman Haidari told Pajhwok Afghan News the accident took place when a car veered off the road and overturned in Baragosh village of Noorgaram district today at 12:00pm. leaving a child dead and five others including two women injured.
According to him, the injured were evacuated to the district hospital for treatment by police.
The accident resulted from over-speeding and reckless driving, he said.
