3 killed, as many wounded in Virginia shooting

KABUL (Pajhwok): Three people have been killed and three others wounded in a shooting in Virginia, United States, says a media report.

The incident occurred on Tuesday evening, just outside Fredericksburg, about 65 miles (105 kilometers) southwest of Washington, D.C. Associated Press reported.

Major Elizabeth Scott, spokesperson for the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office, confirmed the details.

Scott said that the shooting may have been carried out by more than one suspect. No arrests have been made, and authorities have not released further information regarding a possible motive.

“There are dozens of officers actively searching for suspects and securing the crime scene,” Scott added.

The three injured individuals were transported to local hospitals with gunshot wounds, though their conditions and identities have not been disclosed at this time.
