Economic Commission approves draft mining revenue policy

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Economic Commission has approved the draft mining sector revenue policy and the plan to establish a commercial market in northern Balkh province with an investment of 80 million afghanis.

The commission also appointed committees to establish liquefied gas facilities and prevent violations by cargo and postal companies.

The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs in a statement said that a regular meeting of the Economic Commission was presided over by Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund.

The meeting was presented the draft mining sector revenue policy for discussion and it was approved after a detailed analysis, taking into account some amendments.

The meeting also approved a plan to build a commercial market in Mazar-i-Sharif, the capital of Balkh, with an investment of 80 million afghanis.

The plan was also presented for discussion at the meeting and approved after a comprehensive evaluation.

The six-storey commercial market will have a parking lot, 56 shops and other necessary facilities.

The meeting also conferred on the issues of the procedure for building liquefied gas facilities and finding appropriate solutions to prevent violations by cargo companies.

Separate committees were appointed to comprehensively evaluate these issues and instructed to submit their reports to the Economic Commission on specified dates.

Without providing details, the statement said at the end of the meeting, follow-up reports on a number of issues were also presented and approved taking into account the instructions of the Economic Commission and recommended to the relevant ministries and agencies for implementation.

The source added the decisions made at the meeting were sent to the Islamic Emirate Leadership Office for approval.
