PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): Fifteen individuals have been killed and injured as a result of two separate traffic accidents in central Logar province, an official said on Saturday.
Police spokesman Maulvi Ahmadullah Anas told Pajhwok Afghan News two women and a child were killed and eight others injured after a car overturned in the Tiri Kotal area of Pul-i-Alam on Friday afternoon.
Also on Friday, he said, a speeding motorbike veered off the road in the Zahidabad area of Mohammad Agha district, leaving four people injured.
The injured were evacuated to the main provincial hospital by security forces and some of them were shifted in critical condition to Kabul for treatment.
He linked the accidents to reckless driving and disregard for traffic rules.
Recently, traffic accidents have increased on the Kabul-Gardez highway in Logar. Officials attribute the surge to allowing Pakistani (right hand drive) vehicles to ply the road and carelessness of drivers.
