ASADABAD (Pajhwok): Five people were injured as a result of an explosion in the Ghaziabad district of eastern Kunar province on Wednesday, an official said.
Information and Culture Director Jannat Gul told Pajhwok Afghan News the blast occurred in the Gurin area of the district this morning, targeting local workers engaged in road construction.
He explained: “Local residents were building a road in the area, using explosives to break stones. One of the devices exploded unexpectedly, injuring five individuals.”
He added the injured were evacuated to the provincial hospital and they were said to be in stable condition.
On Monday, four people had been wounded in a blast at a precious stone mine in the Chapa Dara district of the province.
