Logar youth demand jobs along with education

PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): A number of youth in central Logar province have urged the government to provide them with job opportunities besides education.

A meeting was organized by the Logar Information and Culture Department to discuss problems and achievements of the youth in Pul-i-Alam, the provincial capital.

Speaking on behalf of the youth in Logar, Wahidullah Wahaj said that the past wars had severely affected the Logar youth and they should be offered job opportunities along with education.

He noted coordination among the youth in Logar had increased compared to the past and their role was essential for the development of their areas.

Another participant, Obaidullah, asked the Ministry of Information and Culture to support and develop literary and cultural activities of the youth and set up public libraries in every district.

On the other hand, Rafiullah Samim, the head of the Logar Provincial Information and Culture Department, said they organized ten competitions for scientific and intellectual development of the youth in Logar last year and also provided free modern education to hundreds of youth.

Samim added there was strong youth in every region of Logar and they must be provided multifaceted support.

Also, Maulvi Yunus Rashid, Deputy Minister of Youth Affairs of the Ministry of Information and Culture, said that the Deputy Ministry of Youth Affairs was trying to provide comprehensive support to the youth at the national level.

He said that the current system came into being due to the sacrifices of Afghans, and the youth were responsible to protect and support the system.

He promised to redouble his efforts in providing education and job opportunities to the youth of Logar.
