PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): A 28-year-old man drowned in a dam in central Logar province and lost his life, police said on Wednesday.
Police spokesman Maulvi Ahmadullah Anas told Pajhwok Afghan News the young victim drowned while swimming in Sorkhab dam of Mohammad Agha district on Tuesday.
He said the victim’s dead body was pulled out from water by Logar police personnel and a special team from Kabul and handed over to his family last night.
Anas asked local residents and tourists from other provinces to avoid swimming in the dam.
Last year, similar incidents occurred in Pul-e-Alam, the capital of Logar province, and Baraki Barak district.
