13 security personnel killed in Waziristan attack

KABUL (Pajhwok): More than a dozen security personnel were killed and 24 others, including 10 soldiers, were injured in a suicide attack on a military vehicle in North Waziristan area of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, reports said on Saturday.

According to a report by Mashal Radio, the blast took place in Air Ali area  of North Waziristan  district.

The report said: “The suicide bomber rammed his explosive-laden vehicle into an army vehicle.”

According to the source, 13 soldiers were killed, ten soldiers and 14 civilians were injured in the attack.

The report added that the explosion was so powerful that it caused the roofs of nearby houses to collapse, injuring 14 civilians, including women and children.

According to Dawn.com, at least eight security personnel were martyred in the suicide blast, citing a statement from the KP chief minister’s office.

According to the statement, KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur condemned the attack and expressed his condolences and prayers for the martyrdom of the personnel.
