KABUL (Pajhwok): The Wakhan T20 cricket tournament, featuring four teams, began on Saturday in northern Kunduz province, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) announced.
The opening match of the short-format tournament saw the Maiwand Champions facing off against the Pamir Legends.
According to the ACB, the tournament will run until July 7. The four participating teams — Maiwand Champions, Hindukush Strikers, Mahipar Stars, and Pamir Legends — will each play six matches, facing every other team twice.
The top two teams in the standings will qualify for the Grand Finale, scheduled for July 7.
ACB also added that the tournament was previously held under the name Qush Tepa National Project Cup, but has been renamed this year as the Wakhan National T20 Cup.
