Teenage girl rescued, suspect held in Maidan Wardak

MAIDAN SHAHR (Pajhwok): A 13-year-old girl has been rescued from kidnappers, and a suspect detained in connection with the case in central Maidan Wardak province, police said on Sunday.

According to a police statement, the teenage girl, originally from Nawar district in Ghazni province, currently resides in the Koh-i-Chel Dokhtaran area of the 13th police district in Kabul.

She was abducted from Kabul and taken to the Surkhabad area of Behsud district in Maidan Wardak.

The statement said that security forces conducted an operation on Saturday night, successfully rescuing the girl and reuniting her with her family.

It added that a suspect has been arrested in connection with the abduction.
