KABUL (Pajhwok): A meeting of the Security and Settlement Commission has emphasized reaching out to returning Afghan refugees with ‘compassion and complete sincerity’ and providing them with comprehensive security and necessary facilities.
On its X page, the commission wrote Mullah Rahmatullah Najeeb, the commission’s deputy chairman and deputy minister for administration at the Ministry of Interior, chaired the regular meeting of the Central Commission for Security and Settlement Affairs.
The meeting discussed security forces’ services for Afghans returning from neighboring countries.
The participants emphasized that returnees should be treated with complete sincerity, compassion and responsibility based on Islamic brotherhood and national commitment.
The meeting directed security agencies to provide comprehensive security and necessary facilities to returning Afghans.
The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) says 949,000 Afghans returned to the country between January and June this year.
