Newly-wed couple among 5 killed in Badakhshan accident

FAIZABAD (Pajhwok): Five members of a family, including bride and groom, were killed in a traffic accident Tashkan district of northwestern Badakhshan province, police said on Friday.

A statement from the Badakhshan police headquarters said the incident occurred shortly after 9pm last night in the Pul-i-Tashkan area on the Tashkan-Kishim highway.

It said five members of a family, including the bride and groom and a child, were killed in the accident and a woman was injured and she was in coma.

The police headquarters wrote that the incident occurred when a corolla car skidded off the road and overturned.

It blamed the tragedy to the driver’s carelessness.

The statement added that the victims were members of a family who were on their way home after a wedding ceremony.
