150 students graduate from vocational training in Badghis

FEROZKOH (Pajhwok): About 150 youth graduated from the Technical and Vocational Training Center in western Badghis province on Monday, with some of them calling for the expansion of such programs to prevent the youth from migration due to unemployment.

In a statement, Governor Spokesman Rahimuddin Rahimi said: “Totally, 150 individuals underwent a six-month training course with the support of TIKA organization and successfully completed the course and received their graduation certificates”.

He said these youths have been trained in the fields of tailoring, motorcycle and mobile phone repair and graduated from the vocational training center of the Department of Labour and Social Affairs.

The vocational training was aimed at enabling to the youth to become self-sufficient economically by starting their own business.

On the other hand, Abdul Raof, a graduate, said he completed the motorbike repair course.

There was a glimmer of confidence in Abdul Raof’s eyes, not born by accident, but through hard work and opportunity. Now he is not only a budding repairman, but also a role model for young people who want to change their destiny with their own hands.

“If these institutional supports continue, many youths like me would no longer have to migrate to find a living overseas. We can build a life right here, in our own country”.

Mohammad Aref, another tailoring graduate, explained: “This training course allowed me to learn tailoring skills professionally. Now, in addition to working and strengthening my family’s economy, I want to teach tailoring to other youths in our village”.

This training course changed his life and by opening a shop, he would be able to play a key role in his family’s economy, he added with a confidence.

He wants the government to expand such educational programs to provide education and work opportunities for youths who are forced to return from Iran and to prevent the youths from migrating due to lack of jobs.
