Dayan Cycle team wins summer futsal title in Ghor

FEROZKOH (Pajhwok): The summer futsal cup tournament, featuring 10 teams, has concluded in western Ghor province, with Dayan Cycle team emerging victorious.

Head of Physical Education and Sports Maulvi Hayatullah Tawhidi told Pajhwok Afghan News: “The futsal competition started two weeks ago with the aim of bringing together youths and developing sports. In the final match, the Dayan Cycle team defeated Ghor FC 2-0 and became the champions”.

He said Farhad Zafari from the Dayan Cycle team was recognized as the best player, Fazaluddin from the Ghor FC team was recognized as the top scorer by scoring 28 goals, and Raja from the Dayan Cycle team was recognized as the best goalkeeper in this futsal competition. The Ghor FC team finished runners-up.

Meanwhile, Abdullah Amani, coach of selected teams, considered holding such competitions effective in growing and institutionalizing sports culture and also in promoting mutual acceptance among people, especially youth, in the province.

“Holding such sports competitions creates an atmosphere of friendship and mutual acceptance between people and youth, and on the other hand, it keeps youth away from drugs and keeps them healthy”.

On the other hand, athletes expressed their appreciation for the efforts of the province’s sports officials to launch futsal competitions and consider holding such sports programs important for the development of sports and solidarity among youths.
