Youth from north visit Khost to promote unity, brotherhood

KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): Some youths from northern provinces have traveled to southeastern Khost province as part of their efforts to promote brotherhood, unity and national understanding among tribes.

These youths are residents of Balkh, Samangan, Jawzjan, Faryab, and Sar-i-Pul provinces. They say with their trips they want to eliminate the hatred and animosity between tribes that have arisen in the past under one name or another.

“We have brought a message of peace and brotherhood from the north to revive the atmosphere of unity and trust among Afghans from the south to the north and from the east to the west of the country”: Zabit Khan Anzor, a young man from Balkh province and a member of the group, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

He explained such trips could re-establish an atmosphere of acceptance, understanding, and national unity; values that have been severely damaged over the past few decades.

Another participant, Sibghatullah Bek Qaisari, a resident of Faryab province, told Pajhwok Afghanistan was the common home of all ethnic groups and they should leave behind their differences they have with each other.

According to him, this trip is being carried out with the aim of helping the ethnic groups living in the country to know each other and live in an atmosphere of brotherhood.

“We, the youth of the North Zone, are traveling to the Southeast Zone with the aim of unity, consensus, and solidarity. We are very grateful to the youth and leaders of the Southeast Zone for their warm welcome”.

Meanwhile, southeastern zone youth, especially Khost, consider such trips between provinces and zones to be very effective in overcoming ethnic prejudice and strengthening national unity.

Naqibullah Zaland, a young man from Khost, told Pajhwok such programs and trips should be organized in the future to bring youth and people from different provinces of the country closer.

“Such trips by young people to one province or another are very important for the elimination of ethnic prejudice, national unity, and the development of Afghanistan”.

“Such trips can bring about unity among the people of Afghanistan, eliminate the prejudice and misconceptions that people from one province have about the people of another province, and create closeness between the people”: Rashid Hamdard, another resident added.

According to Khost Information and Culture Department officials, youths from the north will not only visit the historical and recreational areas of Khost, but will also learn about the culture, traditions, and ethnic characteristics of the province.

“During this trip, the youth of the northern zone will visit recreational areas in the southeastern provinces, as well as become familiar with the cultures of this zone and the traditions and culture of the tribes of this zone in general, and will also exchange views with the youth and elders”: Subhanullah Azam, the information officer of the Department, told Pajhwok.

The youth from northern provinces traveled to Paktia province yesterday and are scheduled to travel to the remaining provinces as well.
