HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): More than 5,000 returnees from Iran have been registered to be introduced to employment agencies for job opportunities in western Herat province, officials said on Tuesday.
Abdul Qayoum Wasiq, Head of Employment Committee in Islam Qala port, said since the committee began its activities, above 5,000 returnees from Iran had been registered at the center to be introduced to employment agencies for jobs.
Female returnees are also included in this process and they will be provided with jobs based on their skills and experiences, and 5,083 people have been registered since the committee jerked into action, he added.
Wasiq emphasized the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs after evaluating the registered people, would introduce them to private and government companies and institutions active in the field of work to facilitate the recruitment and employment process.
The program is aimed at attracting skilled workforce in the country and mitigating unemployment.
Recently, Iran has begun deporting Afghan refugees and less than a month, more than half a million people have returned to the country.
