KABUL (Pajhwok): Three people have been killed and 75 others — including four women — injured in incidents of aerial firing during Pakistan’s Independence Day celebrations in Karachi, Pakistani media reported on Thursday.
According to ARY News, the fatalities included a young girl. The aerial firing occurred in various parts of the city late on Wednesday night and early Thursday as citizens marked the 78th anniversary of Pakistan’s independence.
The injured were taken to hospitals for treatment, with several reported to be in critical condition.
Pakistan is celebrating its 78th Independence Day today, August 14.
