KABUL (Pajhwok): The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) has described Tuesday’s night deadly traffic accident in western Herat province as tragic, expressing condolences and instructing transport officials to urgently provide accurate information about the incident, including the party responsible.
On Tuesday night, a 580-type passenger bus carrying refugees who had recently returned from Iran through Islam Qala border was en route to Kabul when it collided with a motorcycle and a truck in Guzara district, before catching fire.
As a result of the incident, 79 people, including 76 recently returned migrants from Iran, lost their lives.
Zabihullah Mujahid, chief spokesman for IEA, said in a message: “Due to this painful incident, IEA prays to Allah Almighty to grant all martyrs a place in paradise, speedy recovery for the injured and patience and reward for their families.”
He directed transport officials to urgently provide accurate details of the incident and share information regarding the party responsible.
