Children among six of a family killed in Ghazni accident

GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): Six members of a family were killed and one person injured in a traffic accident in the capital of southern Ghazni province on Sunday, an official said.

Governor’s spokesman Izatullah Saeedi told Pajhwok Afghan News a 580-type passenger bus collided with a Passo-type vehicle in Rozi Kotal area on the Kabul-Kandahar highway this morning around 10:30am.

He said the victims— four children, a woman and a man— were all travelling in Passo, while the bus driver was injured.

He added security forces rushed to the scene and evacuated the injured and dead bodies to the Ghazni Civil Hospital.

He blamed the crash on reckless driving and failure to observe traffic rules.

On Sunday night, five people were killed and injured in two separate traffic accidents in the province.
