Explosion kills 7 family members, including children, in Farah

FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): Seven members of a family, including five children, have been killed in an explosion inside a house in Bala Buluk district of western Farah province, an official said on Tuesday.

Maulvi Fada Muhammad Saad, the administrative chief of Bala Buluk, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the blast occurred when explosive materials detonated inside a house in the district, killing seven members of one family, including five children.

He added the incident took place on Monday evening inside the house of a man named Jan Mohammad in Nawabad village.

According to him, Jan Mohammad, his wife and their five children died in the explosion.

He said that one of the victims, who was seriously wounded in the blast, died while being transferred to the provincial hospital in Farah.
