MAIMANA (Pajhwok): Six people were killed and as many others injured in a traffic accident in northern Faryab province on Sunday, an official said.
Information and Culture Director Maulvi Shamsuddin Mohammad told Pajhwok Afghan News the accident occurred when a Saracha-type vehicle collided with a truck in the Kata Kam area of the Maimana-Mazar highway early in the morning.
He confirmed that six people lost their lives and six others were injured, including women and children.
A medical staff member at Maimana Hospital, who requested anonymity, told Pajhwok that six bodies – including four men, one woman, and one child – had been brought to the hospital, while six injured individuals were transferred to the emergency ward, two of whom were in critical condition.
