KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock (MoAIL) has announced that Afghanistan begun exporting meat for the first time, starting with a pilot phase.
Maulvi Sher Mohammad Hatami, Director of Publications at MoAIL, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the trial phase of meat exports has officially commenced from the state-owned slaughterhouse in Balkh province.
He added that going forward, private companies will also be able to export meat from small ruminants—such as goats and sheep—to international markets, provided they meet the required standards.
