Etihad Shamir wins Ghazni premier league title

GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): The Football Premier League in Ghazni, featuring 10 top teams, concluded with Etihad Shamir being crowned the champion.

Bilal Mujahid, the head of Physical Education and Sports in Ghazni, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the tournament, which began 45 days ago at Ali Lala Sports Stadium in Ghazni city, was organized to select the provincial representative team for the 1404 solar year.

He added that the competing teams were divided into different groups throughout the competition.

According to Mujahid, the final match was contested between Etihad Shamir and Piroozi teams. Etihad Shamir emerged victorious with a 2-1 scoreline, securing the league title.

Mujahid also added that the Pamir team earned recognition as the runner-up, based on accumulating the highest number of points throughout the league.

He emphasized that the primary goal of the tournament was to choose Ghazni’s representative team for national competitions in the 1404 solar year. Etihad Shamir will now represent the province in these upcoming events.

During the closing ceremony, Maulvi Ahmadullah Wasiq, the Director of the National Olympic Committee, expressed the sports authority’s readiness to support the development of sports and physical education in Ghazni to the best of its ability.
