BAMYAN CITY (Pajhwok): Construction work has been initiated on a hotel at a cost of eight million afghanis in the capital of central Bamyan province to provide better services for tourists.
Maulvi Rozi Mohammad Afkar, provincial mayor, told a ceremony in this regard that the hotel was being constructed in Sarbazar Ghalgha area of Bamyan city, the provincial capital, in order to improve services for both tourists and residents, create job opportunities and increase municipal revenue.
Funded by the municipality, the project would take three months to complete, he said.
“Bamyan Municipality has planned an annual development budget of about 60 million afghanis this year. Some projects under this budget are already underway and will soon be inaugurated, while others will begin in the near future,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Deputy Governor Maulvi Mohammad Anas Aziz said the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) was striving for the progress and development of the country and would spare no effort in implementing development projects.
He added the revenue generated from municipal projects would be used for the development and reconstruction of Bamyan city.
