KABUL (Pajhwok): At least 91 Palestinians were killed in Gaza within a single day by Israeli forces, Al Jazeera reported.
According to medics, the victims included members of a prominent doctor’s family and four people traveling in a truck while fleeing northern Gaza City.
The killings on Saturday occurred as Israeli forces intensified their air and ground assault to seize Gaza City, the enclave’s largest urban center, and push its residents into southern “concentration zones.”
Residential homes, schools converted into shelters, tents for displaced families, and a truck carrying evacuees were among the targets. At least 76 people were confirmed dead in those strikes.
Earlier in the day, the home of Dr. Mohammed Abu Salmiya, director of al-Shifa, Gaza City’s largest hospital, was bombed. At least five of his relatives — including his brother, sister-in-law, and their children — were killed.
Since the beginning of the Israeli offensive, more than 65,000 Palestinians have been killed and nearly 165,700 others injured, reports say.
