KABUL (Pajhwok): Police have arrested a man accused of killing a prominent doctor in Kabul about a year and a half ago, an official said on Friday.
Kabul police spokesman Khalid Zadran said police personnel from the 8th Security District arrested the accused who had fled to Iran after the incident.
Zadran wrote on X that the accused, along with another person who had been arrested earlier, had shot and killed Dr. Abdul Ghaffar Hamdard in front of his clinic in Karti Naw area of Kabul.
Zadran added that the case of the arrested person has been submitted to the judicial organs along with all available evidence.
According to reports, Dr. Hamdard, who also served as the Director of Medical Education Development at Kabul Medical University, was killed in front of his clinic in the Karti Naw area of Kabul about 18 months ago.
