NEILI (Pajhwok): A 10–day immunization campaign has been launched in central Daikundi and Bamyan provinces to inoculate children against measles, officials said on Monday.
Dr. Ghani Sameem, Daikundi public health director, said the campaign was aimed at protecting children, especially those under five, from the disease. He added vaccination was the only way to save children from measles.
Meanwhile, Bamyan governor Maulvi Abdullah Sarhadi urged public health officials to implement the campaign with full commitment, proper management and transparency in the provincial capital and districts. He also called on families to vaccinate their children.
