2 thieves held, gold, cash returned in Badakhshan

FAIZABAD (Pajhwok): Two individuals have been arrested in connection with the theft of gold and money from a moneychanger in northeastern Badakhshan province, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said on Thursday.

According to the MoI’s post on X, police recovered the stolen items, including a gold brick weighing 2.638 kilograms, $28,325, 2.2 million afghanis and €1,000, and returned them to the owner in Faizabad city.

The ministry added that the two suspects were detained along with two pistols and will be handed over to judicial authorities after a preliminary investigation.
