India delivers food aid to recent quake-hit Afghans

KABUL (Pajhwok): India’s Ministry of External Affairs says New Delhi has provided food assistance to the recent earthquake victims in Afghanistan.

Randhir Jaiswal, spokesman for the ministry wrote on his X handle that the aid was handed over by Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar to his Afghan counterpart Maulvi Amir Khan Muttaqi.

Muttaqi travelled to India last Wednesday.

During his meeting with Muttaqi, Jaishankar announced that New Delhi had allocated 20 ambulances in aid to Afghanistan, of which five have so far been delivered.

He also stressed the continuation and expansion of his country’s humanitarian cooperation with Afghanistan.
